Classroom Happenings   

What an exciting time of year. Spring has sprung, buds are on the trees and the kindergarten students are very busy.

Our classes celebrated Read Across America by reading with and to fifth graders in honor of Dr. Suess’ birthday. We are beginning to study the five senses in our science and we are awaiting the celebration of Earth Day on April 25. On that same day Kindergarten will also be traveling to the Montgomery County Cultural Center in Norristown to see the live presentation of “The Tomato Girl.”

The kindergarten students continue to work very diligently on their reading and writing. More word families are appearing and are being used along with classroom word walls, by our kindergarten authors. Comprehension skills are increasing as our readers practice retelling stories the have read.
