The fifth graders are springing into action for the third trimester!! In math we are working on figuring out coordinates, area, volume and capacity. In science, we are going to work on our final kit, “Mixtures and Solutions.” In social studies, the students will be learning all about life in the English colonies, more specifically, the New England colonies, the Middle Colonies and the Southern colonies. In reading, they will be delving more into literature circles and getting better at having meaningful discussions. In writing, students will be learning more about fiction writing and the author's craft. Floor hockey will be coming to an end soon and the winning girl’s and boy’s teams will get to play against the teachers!! Also, on the 25th of April the students will be celebrating Earth Day and getting to explore Stony Creek’s wonderful nature trail.
