Message from the PTO President

It’s hard to believe that it is already May with the end of the 2007-08 school year right around the corner!  It has been a very successful year in terms of fundraising as well as participation in events and new projects sponsored by the PTO.  On behalf of the Stony Creek PTO I would like to thank all of the families who contributed in so many ways to PTO related activities.  It is great to have such an active parent group.

There are still a couple of events yet to come this year.  Of course, On May 18th is the annual Spring Carnival and Silent Auction, our single largest fundraiser.  It takes many hands to put together this important event.  So come out, lend a hand and enjoy the day with your family.

At our PTO meeting on May 8th at 9:30am, we will be voting for the open positions for the 2008-09 PTO Executive Board.  Following is the slate of officers up for vote:

          Co-Presidents – Diane Chaiken & Jen Foreman

          Secretary – Kathy Autieri

          VP Publicity – Tracy Suchodolski

          Co-VP Ways & Means – Doris Fox

          Treasurer-in-Training – Leslie Anne Streeter

With this group of dedicated parents joining our existing Board members, we are sure to have another outstanding PTO year.

See you at Spring Carnival on May 18th.

Diane Chaiken

Hoots!

To our Students who earned recognition from the Township for their Earth Day posters and poetry.

To Tracy Suchodolski for our wonderful “custom-made” Stony Creek bird house and the beautiful plantings in front of our school and around the Stony Creek sign.

To April Guarini, Beth Thune, and Karen Kessler for planning and organizing our April Bagel Buddies breakfasts.

To all of our Parents who volunteered to help with Earth Day.

To Leslie-Anne Streeter and the following Stony Creek families who helped to distribute wood chips along the Nature Trail:  Beyer, Boroch, Campbell, Dimariono, Elliott, Fox, Lacombe, McCallun, Pigeon, Quinn, Schaefer, Suchodolski, Tylawsky, Valentine and Weissbergers.  The trail is now completely covered and will be used, stream included, in our school's Earth Day celebration.  Special thanks to Doris Fox for her assistance in recruiting helpers, Gina Quinn for her unwavering support of the project, and Jim Beyer with his army of Cub Scouts.  Additional hoots to Buck Enterprises for carving the trail and to the Masons, Fox Trust and Cedar Brook Country Club for the financial support of this project.

To Debbie Goldberg for planning and organizing our school assembly programs this year.

To Patty Hong for painting lines for recess games on our playground.

To Ms. St. Jules and all the Stony Creek Strings Students who performed beautifully at the district wide strings concert.
